Re: Grafham Results

Liam,
Well done for finding the time to post Saturday's results, especially as you are in 3rd place!
Best wishes to all competitors for tomorrow, but the wind forecast doesn't look promising unless you'd rather be in a bar!

Re: Mainsail hook on mast

Hi Paul, I think your problem may be much more complicated than others imply, in part due to 1918's history (see end).. As well as changes in mast halyard hook lengths over the years, the eyelet in the head of sails can be different distances from the bolt rope. When I bought a new Sprint 15 sail to...

Re: General weather forecasts

Hi Corky, I use more than one site, but I like xcweather.co.uk. I think this site was developed for light aircraft/microlight/hang glider pilots. As well as providing forecasts for your choice of specific locations, you can also look up the latest available weather info for a wide range of weather s...

Re: Paris Olympics 2024

I'd assume there was a word omitted - doesn't it take a mixed up person to sail a dinghy rather than a catamaran - especially a Sprint 15.....

1594 Eau Pair et al

Hi All, I've started a new topic for this. The 1594 sail seen in the Plymouth photos was the original sail and well past its best. I wanted to give it to a financially pressed enthusiastic young group to use mostly as a training/spare/strong wind sail. The Plymouth sprinters fitted to a T. The sail ...

Re: RUTLAND IS POSTPONED!!

There's clearly something about Rutland - https://sprint15.com/picture-gallery-68 ... utland.php
Have we become wimps over the last 16 years? I admit I'M being very much tongue in cheek - I'm not sailing at present.

Re: 3 race TT scoring

Hi Jenny, Bob Carter introduced the overall time basis for settling ties - I think because he thought it unfair that the 2nd race of just 2 races should count more in the reckoning. Because some boats might sail standard mode and some Sport (then Sprint) mode so that timing each boat was, and still ...

Re: 3 race TT scoring

And normal scoring will also apply when a planned 3 race event gets reduced to a 2 race event because of circumstances on the day? And the same for an event that is planned for just 2 races? Are there issues involved in applying the change mid-series when the series has or may have been announced as...

Re: Two Weeks to Grafham! Provisional Results

Hi, I found what I thought was going to be provisional results at http://www.grafham.org/wp-content/uploads/_results/Opens/2016/CatOpen152016.htm. At present it's just entries, but maybe later today it"ll be more up to date. Apologies for posting the wrong info earlier - careless of me when fli...

Re: Pwllheli Nationals

Liam,

Thanks again for the impressively prompt posting of provisional results to date!

I've even had time to notice that David Groom's early showing has waned. But what has happened to Erling? Is he ailing?

Re: Pwllheli Nationals

Hi Jon,

Gabriel competed in the 2008 Nationals at Thorpe Bay, representing Lantau. He said then he'd like to compete again sometime, but it wouldn't be soon! It'll be good to see him again.
