I dont know about the Nationals yet, I will need to leave it until the last minute as I dont know where we will be in the house move stakes or work commitments. Well, I finally got my boat here to North Wales and have Joined Penmaenmawr SC. I raced for the first time yesterday and in light airs beat the fast cats. :D Probably not good form to win on yourt first day as a member but I was happy.

Thanks for all the advice and I hope to see you soon.

Re: Sailing in North Wales

Thanks Kevin, I was in Llandudno last year for the day and watched the racing, I met a guy with a 15 who raced at the Nationals whith me, he was there as a visitor for the day. I noticed the long slog back along the prom, seemed tiring after an afternoon sailing. Good excuse for a decent set of whee...

Sailing in North Wales

Hi all, I'm looking for advice on which sailing clubs in the North Wales sail 15's. I am lucky enough to have got my ideal job, Engineering Manager for Snowdon Mountain Railway. The family and the 15 will be relocating to the North Wales coast somewhere around Conwy. I will be moving with the 15 bef...

Re: Abandoned Boats

Charles, I had a similar problem and there is RYA guideance on the matter. Basically you must make all reasonable effort to contact the boat owners and make sure you record everything. I would do the following: 1 Make a list of the unknown boats with as much detail as possible 2 Post the list on the...

Re: Carsington TT Sat 5 February

Hi all, It was a shame about the racing on Saturday but thats sailing! For those of us venturing out for a play we enjoyed it but racing would have been a whole different ball game, I admit to sailing into shelter before gybing (Coward!). I noticed that there on the safety boat there was a photograp...

Re: 1758

I bought 1758 from Robin at the end of 2009. I sail at Beaver and have had a full season. I have attended a few events and apart from breaking it at the nationals have had a great time. Steve has repaired her and she looks fantastic without the cocktail stickers and a new waterline stripe.

Re: DX 15 at Stewartby

Hi everyone, I am a fairly recent convert to the Sprint 15 and I have to say I have not regretted for a second moving to the class. I must admit that one of the reasons for joining the fleet and the association was the reputation of all 15 sailors as a friendly helpful bunch. I have attended a few e...
