Hi Bob, Thanks for the info. At least I know I'm not going mad :roll: I've already ordered a set of the Barton hatches as they were the first I found that had sizes that matched the holes. Nice thing about standards, there's so many to choose from :D So I'll see how they perform. Regards, John

It is indeed Erlings boat. I aquired it late last year from the guy that bought it from him. It's having a bit of a make over. Years of sailing on Salt water have taken its toll it seems. It now lives at Bala Sailing club in North Wales.
Just come to refit my shiny new hatches from Windsport 4" and 6" and find the holes in the hulls are significantly larger. 115mm and 165mm. It's an out of Africa boat. Anyone else come across their hulls not matching the specified hatch size? John Bit more research and they seem to be clos...
While renovating a hull today I poked the camera on a string into the rear hatch to see what horrors might be there. Presumably the S. African builders had a sense of humour....
