Re: Grafham Winter TT 9th March - Entries Open

Instead of being the last visiting boat to arrive I thought I'd be the first this time.

Where is everyone?

Old battens in new sails

Hi all I picked up my shiny new sail at the dinghy show and will start playing with it at Grafham this weekend. So far I have 'enjoyed' the hour of careful measurements to position & then gingerly stick the numbers on. I then chortled at the ease with which my battens slid into the crisp sail cl...

Re: Flying pig in Hull serial number

Hi John Great to hear Erling's last boat has made it well & truly onto the North Island. We have his previous boat here in Halifax. Bob is right, he would have thought the flying pig hilarious. I remember getting up to the club for our travellers event and finding him waiting at the gate with bo...

Re: Rutland WTT

As I said, Bob, my tramp was very dirty! Right on the line too, fortunately the start was delayed a few minutes, nothing to do with me... So time to get her back up. It was seriously gusty. That's the first time I've been in with Ingrid (that sounds very weird as she's named after my Mum!) and...

Rutland WTT

Excellent racing! Well done Jenny, Jason and Jon. Something of a purple tide ! Before the accusations start flying, I WAS washing the goose s*** off my trampoline :D I definitely learnt something about getting through the gate / finish line , which I will use as a question on Wednesday when we have ...

Re: Draycote Winter TT - Entries are open!

Just seen your email Jenny.

There are 2 late entry fees £30 & £55. I hope the former applies and not the latter!

Re: Draycote Winter TT - Entries are open!

Will late entries be accepted? I may not be able to get to my boat until the snow has thawed.

Re: Tensioning the trampoline.

I believe it is important lacing right to left, probably something to do with the diagonal strengthening on the tramp, though I don't why.

Re: Grafham Entries Open - 26/27 October.

Hi Bob

Nothing Saturday. 4 short races today in lovely sunshine. Sailed about 8 miles, managed a whopping 7.3kn at one point (not sure how!) and ascended 30m (such a brilliant stat for sailing on a pond!). Watch out for Mark A's perfect pros.

Re: Tensioning the trampoline.

Mark, do you mean you tighten from port to starboard? That's the opposite way to the way I was taught.

Re: Tensioning the trampoline.

Hi Thierry I can see, as a first installation of the tramp lacing, your solution works. Though I can't quite work out how you keep the whole lacing tight throughout the process, though you obviously do. As the season progresses and the tramp needs tightening, it seems to me that your solution adds c...

Re: Jib sheeting

In short, I'd say yes you can and remain class legal. I suspect Mr Carter has been waiting for me to spot this post & exercise my love of documentation & the rules. Amendments to section 10 of the Class Rules – all are optional:- a) Jib Leads - Two to one purchase with cleating block...

Haha, very true Mark.

I'm trying to get the Saturday off for the GWSC event, but suspect I won't make it down, in which case probably see you in 2025!
