Re: Tensioning the trampoline.

I believe it is important lacing right to left, probably something to do with the diagonal strengthening on the tramp, though I don't why.

Re: Grafham Entries Open - 26/27 October.

Hi Bob

Nothing Saturday. 4 short races today in lovely sunshine. Sailed about 8 miles, managed a whopping 7.3kn at one point (not sure how!) and ascended 30m (such a brilliant stat for sailing on a pond!). Watch out for Mark A's perfect pros.

Re: Tensioning the trampoline.

Mark, do you mean you tighten from port to starboard? That's the opposite way to the way I was taught.

Re: Tensioning the trampoline.

Hi Thierry I can see, as a first installation of the tramp lacing, your solution works. Though I can't quite work out how you keep the whole lacing tight throughout the process, though you obviously do. As the season progresses and the tramp needs tightening, it seems to me that your solution adds c...

Re: Jib sheeting

In short, I'd say yes you can and remain class legal. I suspect Mr Carter has been waiting for me to spot this post & exercise my love of documentation & the rules. Amendments to section 10 of the Class Rules – all are optional:- a) Jib Leads - Two to one purchase with cleating blocks ...

Re: North Devon Yachting and Cycling

Haha, very true Mark.

I'm trying to get the Saturday off for the GWSC event, but suspect I won't make it down, in which case probably see you in 2025!

Re: North Devon Yachting and Cycling

Bob, I couldn't get Saturday off work (the best wind) and as well as a dreadful hangover had a 6 hr drive back on Monday with work on Tuesday, so all went a bit sideways!

Re: North Devon Yachting and Cycling

Hi Bob, I do indeed. I bought her from John Finch at Stewartby last year. She seems to be going OK, though for various reasons (mostly off the water) this weekend was my worst ever nationals results  The curious thing is that I remember watching Chris tack and thinking it all looked very smoot...

North Devon Yachting and Cycling

Are the usual suspects taking 2 wheels as well as 2 hulls?

The tides don't seem to be lending themselves to an afternoon of beer and bikes, but you never know!

Re: South Island sailing

Very true Mark, unfortunately for me Liam tacked early at the leeward Mark, sailed under me and crept away from me up the last leg. Then Keith Newman (I think) footed off and squeaked through below me to take second by a boatlength. Great racing though. I've got to say I was pretty jammy to get the ...

[Thanks to the Shanklin Fleet for letting me join your racing today. We certainly had variable conditions! Thanks especially to Bob Baker for lending me 1926 and Liam and Yvonne for inviting me into their home for a lovely meal, chat and some Americas Cup critical analysis! IMG-20240908-WA0002(1).jp...

Mr Aldridge, are you aiming for this pot as your sail number is below 2015? :D
