PY

The new PY for Dart Una has dropped by 8, how on earth has that happened? We certainly haven't seen Darts noticeably faster over the last year at Halifax. Is this a feature of the new boats being raced in mixed club fleets?

Ingrid is waiting expectantly in sight of Windsor Castle. What time are the rest of you arriving?!

Re: Datchet Entries are Open

Okey dokey, normally we complain like crazy when a starting sequence is longer than absolutely necessary as we are hanging about getting cold :D

Re: Datchet Entries are Open

Hi Lee

Hoping to get to Datchet for my first sail there!

5 minutes between the last club start & our prep seems like a very long time?

Someone at DWSC needs to review https://www.dwsc.co.uk/club-terms-and-p ... club-rules the first error I spotted was in 2. (b)

Re: Dart 15 Multi Purchase - Lower Prices

Oh dear, no new boat sales when 5 were in the bag? :(

Perhaps the margin on new boats isn't what it is on class legal sails? :?

Re: Nationals at Shanklin

Seconded, a great event. Wonderful hospitality from SSC. Yvonne can decompress now!

Jeb, you're going to have to change your name by deed pole :D

I will try not to get pulled for no lights on my bike by Mr Plod next time I'm in town!

Re: Trapeze wire tensioners

My question over the legality of the bungee I added to the top of the trapeze wires is a little moot, as I did not trapeze during the Sport Nationals. I had a look at the fleet to see if there were different trapeze set ups being used. :?: Rob Forrester uses a “no change to the existing equipment ...

Re: Trapeze wire tensioners

Hi Liam

It's not exactly breaking a rule, more that the alteration isn't in section 10 of the rules.

We can discuss at the Nationals.

Thanks.

Trapeze wire tensioners

Hi All To make hooking on to the wire easier & more consistent I have attached aprox 1 ft of shock cord from the top trapeze wire shackle to 15 inches down the wire, fixed with a rolling hitch & plenty of insulating tape. Total cost well under £5. This means I can set the trapeze ring to ju...

Re: Turning the rudder gudgeons upside down

Good question Thierry & good, cheap solution Liam. I must say I've looked at various boat's worn gudgeons / pintles and generally thought "It's taken them 20yrs to get to this point, think I'll leave well alone!" However, the wear, particularly if uneven could potentially very sl...

Boat for Sale

Looks fairly good value, if you are prepared to go to Scotland for it.

Re: Nationals at Shanklin

Looking forward to a good event.

After the East Coast Piers Race I'm in 2 minds as to whether I want the chairman's wind force to help us heavier helms out onto the wire or just enough to lift a hull while hiking and forget the trapeze and all the bother it causes! :D

Re: Nationals - Early Bird Entries Close 13th June

I recently bought 602 from Filey & will be lending her to one of the Dart18 sailors at Brid for the Nationals. I'm asking my fellow club sailors if they are going to the Nationals & if not, would they lend their boat to someone who does want to go from the club or to one of the Brid D18 sail...

Instead of being the last visiting boat to arrive I thought I'd be the first this time.

Where is everyone?

Old battens in new sails

Hi all I picked up my shiny new sail at the dinghy show and will start playing with it at Grafham this weekend. So far I have 'enjoyed' the hour of careful measurements to position & then gingerly stick the numbers on. I then chortled at the ease with which my battens slid into the crisp sail cl...
