I chased one of these for years since Nick brought one to the nationals when it was at netley years back. It’s an RC model of a topcat 15 which was a copy of a dart 15! It’s also pretty big, mast is taller than me! Anyway, I finally got one, but life has got in the way, I’ve never really tried...

Hi All - Only one place left for the training at Netley on 24/25 March.

Hi all. Sprint 15 "beginner" training will be at Netley sailing club on 24-25 march. It will be run as last year by Nick Dewhirst. More details to follow when I have them, but in the meantime if you would like to come please contract me on rob@familybowen.co.uk

My trampoline has small blobs of sticky tree sap all over it. Thought about using acetone to try and get it off, but has anyone got any suggestions? (including telling me that acetone won't work or would rot the tramp!)

Cheers

Hi Liam. Have you asked Dave Lloyd? He may have some spare bits he collects!

Hi Andy, the tramps are made by Hyde Sails - I had mine repaired to the point of looking like a patchwork quilt! Their repair loft (which was near Southampton, but this one has now shut down) used the original material, so it might be worth getting in touch with them.

Hi Phil, I generally sail 2 up with the jib, and have spent a fair bit of time on this. The most useful bit of advice I've read is in Brian Phipps catamaran book for setting up luff tension. Basically he says to pull the main in fully as you would on a beat, then tension the jib luff so that it is j...

Hi all, more of a general sailing research question here as there are a wealth of clubs represented on the forum. What is the slow handicap cut off py at your club please?

Cheers

Hi Neil. Discovered that Richard Harrison from Netley is making the journey up to Carsington, so I've given him the tramp track to pass on to you. He sails 2001 which is called pace odyssey. I said you'd track him down.

Not at carsington, i wonder if any of the shanklin contingent might be passing Southampton on their way? Failing that I hope to be at grafham.

Hi Neil, I've got some tramp track that I've just taken off as I had to get a new tramp, so had to replace the whole lot. If you want it you're welcome.

I managed to get hold of a new bottom section to replace mine that had a sleeve over a bit of corrosion (like Robert England wrote about a while ago. I had to take the sleeve off, so there are now a few rivet holes. (I'm not selling this am I?). However, It is straight, and I think I was being a bit...

Hi all. So it seems that my 15 isn't white!

Has anyone got any tips for matching the "off white" gelcoat colour please? Also any hints for blending in the non slip surface on the deck would be great as well!

So, just to stick my 2 pence worth in to the mix here. Surely the question has to be asked "what or who exactly is the long term future of the class", and then any arguments either way need to take this into account more than anything else? I don't have a specific preference about the DX r...

Hi all, now I've never been there, as will be obvious by my line of questioning! But has anyone ever done a cruising / pottering sailing holiday on the broads? We're kind of thinking along the lines of camping and pottering. Looking at an arial map it looks like most of the broads would be too narro...
