Re: Wanted 2 piece mast (plus cash) in exchange for 1 piece.

Judging by a couple of replies I've had, my original posting wasn't clear...

So to clarify, I have a 1 piece nearly new mast. Looking to swap for a 2 piece mast.

Wanted 2 piece mast (plus cash) in exchange for 1 piece.

2011 is up for sale and I've been approached by a gentleman in Austria about exporting it to him. As he wishes to car top the boat, he would benefit from a 2 piece mast. As the racing community seems to very much favour the single piece mast, I've suggested that it should be possible to arrange an e...

Re: Thinking of a NEW SAIL for next season?

All deposits have been received and paid to Windsport for the sail offer, so this is now done and dusted. Apologies to those on the waiting list. I have received a couple of 'nibbles' regarding the new boat offer. We're not at the minimum order quantity yet, but if you are mulling it over, perhaps y...

Newsprint is Dead!!!, long live e-Newsprint???

From a previous posting: - Food for thought or [probably] Can of worms: Each edition of our fantastic magazine 'Newsprint' costs about £1,000 to print and send out to each member. We do this twice a year. This represents over 50% of our income [members subs]. I'm reliably informed that the same maga...

Re: Thinking of a NEW SAIL for next season?

Hi All, Due to constraints, it's not possible to extend the Winter Sail offer, so all the available sails have now been reserved. As stated above, I will propose to the committee that, in the event of future offers from Windsport, the association allocate on a lottery basis rather than 1st come, 1st...

Re: Thinking of a NEW SAIL for next season?

Hi, I have sent an email to Brian regarding the two members on the reserve's list plus a third that apparently got 'lost in the post'. Hopefully he's able to expand the offer, although I do understand that it was always subject to constraints. I'm sure if he can, he will. Otherwise, perhaps we need ...

Re: Weight Limit for a Dart / Sprint 15

Hi Chris, I'm 6'3" and nearly 16 stone. In the light winds at Brightlingsea this year, I scored a 7th, showing that weight isn't a prohibitve handicap. This result is also borne out by club racing results. The 15 would be a very good choice and think of the fun you'll have when the wind does bl...

Re: Draycote Water TT Saturday 7th Jan.

Hi Pete,

The boats packed and I'll be driving up on Friday evening. Will the club be open to drop off the boat?
Good news on the weather front and just as well. I'll need something to push all that xmas pud round the lake.

See you all then.

Watching the telltales on a sunny day

With the sun shining on the windward side of the sail, I can't see what the leeward telltales are doing. This can also occur when on starboard, preventing the burgee from being visable at the same time. How do people assess windflow over the leeward side in these conditions? Also I note that the sai...
