Hi Jim,
When we (The Sprint 15 Association) moved the sale of new boats to Windsport they agreed to match the price that the Sprint 15 Association were charging for the alternative supplier sails and trampolines. This is for original equipment Hyde sails. Also Hyde corrected the problems that they had experienced with their jib. So now we now recommend that you buy sails from Windsport ( phone 01326 376191 or www.catparts.windsport.co.uk )
You get original equipment at good prices AND it supports our boat importer which is good for the Class.

12 at the end of 05 with only one active racer,but the club has devised a sailing programme based on existing expertise within the club for 06 that will include more provision for training and development with a view to encourage more members to take part in racing.I think I am safe in saying that most of us Sprint owners fall into the novice/first time owners box and should benefit from this support the net result hopefully more Sprints on the start line in 06.

Why not try to get a few guys to the teach-in at Carsington 6 & 7 May.

I'm trying to get a few guys from Halifax to go (I expect at least 3 of us there).

It should be a great opportunity to talk boats, find out how to go a bit faster, practice boat handling & a bit of racing on the Sunday AND get away for the weekend & drink beer ).

Hi Jim,
12 is a really good number - a nice little fleet. Charles'suggestion of getting some of them to the Carsington teach-in is a good idea. It also gives you the opportunity of meeting our illustrious Chairman, Nick Dewhirst (the teach-in is his baby) plus some of the key northern sailors such as Ray Gall,Charles Watson & many more.
I've found when you have got a fleet of novices quite often it is hard to get a number of them out at the same time (as often they go sailing "once in a while" rather than most weeks). Quite a good idea is to agree to a strategy where for example you all make a special effort to do the Sunday races once a month (such as the first Sunday of the month). This means that you can then get a number of boats sailing together at the same time which is more fun and then by copying one another the novices start to improve.
