I see that the Google directions on the web site (and no doubt a few sat navs) direct you thro the centre of Southend to Thorpe Bay. DON'T FOLLOW THEM!!
1) Wherever you are coming from, enter Southend via the A127 Southend Arterial road. ( From the Dartford Tunnel take the A13 then A130 up to the A127)
2) On the A127 simply go straight ahead at every single roundabout, junction or lights for about 5 miles. Eventually you will go down a tree lined dual carriageway (Thorpe Hall Avenue) and will reach the seafront. Turn left and TBYC boatpark is 800 yds along on the left.
It is so easy that way, but please leave extra time because entering the Town can be busy and the first race is fairly early!
