I expect there may be a few people turning up at Pentewan in addition to those who have already booked. I am intending to come and do at least the racing. Having secured this likelihood I thought I'd better ring up the camp-site and check the cost of a pitch. I was told that the week 22nd-29th was fully booked but that I may be able to get in at another local site. Does anyone else find themselves in a similar situation? Would anyone mind sharing their pitch? I have a small two-man tunnel tent and would be happy to contribute towards the pitch fees. I think that Robin Newbold may be looking for a place too.
If it turns out that I'm healthy enough and injury-free, I'll be looking for accommodation at the last "minute".
It's no good for you now, but if it seems that you find a pitch and are still looking for someone to share it with only a couple of days to go (I have a small "3 man" tent), I could be interested in a deal.
I've had no offers as yet but there is still time. I'm looking around for other venues but would prefer to be on-site with everyone else if possible. I'll let you know if anything turns up.
I have asked Pentewan Sands to let me know if they have any cancellations for the week commencing 22/8. They are currently full for camping but had some statics left which are expensive unless a group of you share. The alternative sites mentioned Seaview and The Meadows are good sites. There are several other sites within a short distance of the club so you will be able to get in somewhere. Unfortuanately we are not allowed to have visitors camping on the sailing club site. Our landlords own the campsite so you will understand why!
If you really get stuck with accommodation please contact me and I will try my best to help out.

The routes into Cornwall can get very busy on Saturdays so the choice is to expect some slow traffic or travel very early. The route out tends to be worse with some big jams during the middle of the day. Keep an ear on the traffic reports to see if the A30 or A38 is the best option.
