from http://www.sailing.org/tools/documents/ ... 950%5D.pdfTOUCHING A MARK
While racing, a boat shall not touch a starting mark before starting, a
mark that begins, bounds or ends the leg of the course on which she
is sailing, or a finishing mark after finishing.
We are using all of the RYA\ISAF rules in the rule book except for those modified by the Sailing Instructions, usually the penalty is reduced to 360 and the scoring system is adjusted plus local adjustments at the hosting club. So yes the answer is we are already.Liam wrote:Just out of interest (as it doesn't effect any positions in the top eight) should we be using these rules?

I was under the impression that once finished you were just that - finished. Perhaps I'll take a look where you suggest and brush up..
Couldn't agree more!Charles wrote:I second everyone's thanks to NDYC for the great sailing. There were challenging courses, with testing & sneaky tides plus winds from testingly flukie to beautiful flat out on the wire.
Race five was the most enjoyable & technically challenging race I've ever sailed, with 5 of us changing places in the last two laps & going over the line within about 20 seconds of oneanother, it just doesn't get better than that, whoever wins.
Thanks to everyone for great racing. Thanks to Mark for turning the cycling into afternoon socialising (aka drinking) sessions !
Looking forward to the next time already.
My pleasure! I didn't exactly have to twist any arms..Charles wrote:Thanks to Mark for turning the cycling into afternoon socialising (aka drinking) sessions !
Agreed. Hats of to Kevin for giving room at marks when he didn't really need to other than to make life easier for us all! A worthy champ, but just 1 more lap and I'd get you!!ray.gall wrote: Congratulations to Kevin Dutch our new Sprint Sport Champion who now holds two of what I would consider to be the equivalent of “golf majors”
