Carsington Cat Open

Post by Mark Aldridge »

I was planning to change boats over, but it looks like our two 15's will not be off the trailer before Carsington so Jacob and I plan to attend.

Where's good to stay and what sort of SP15 attendance is expected?

Are you camping Mark? There are campsites 500 yards up the road. we have stayed in the pub campsite up the road called Knockerdown inn but may stay at the Pudding rooms this time as slightly closer and cheaper.

In attendance there is Myself. My brother Ian, and possible another from Beaver? That will make at least 4 of us. Wonder wheter any Carsington contingent will be there?

I was wondering myself if there is any pre entry forms.

Prefer not to camp so looking for bricks and mortar accommodation ideally, although if we're stuck I have a tent and a car!

I suspect there may be a few DX boats out too which will add some fun, either way sounds like we'll have a good race between us all.

Have a look on the Carsington website for forms and let's hope we have a similar wind to the Winter TT.

I'll be there (had to sit out the last winter TT due to a bad back, that day would have killed me!)

Not sure whether DX's will start with the sprint 15 fleet, or whether they will be bundled in the mixed handicap fleet.

Bricks and Mortar accomodation.

For anyone going down the list of B&B's - The Miners Arms at Brassington (not listed) had a few rooms left as of monday 3rd morning. looks to be about 2 miles from club.

Would any one from Carsington know if the club will be doing dinner on the Saturday evening of the event?

I've enjoyed that the last few years but I haven't seen any thing mentioned this year.

This is the NOR off the Carsington web site.
It looks like Simon Gillis is the organiser after Ray retired last year.
No mention of grub, though..........

Erling,

You've only got a short section of roadworks now between junctions 10 and 12 now. Past 12 it's pretty much clear all the way.
