Trailer Price [Bob]

Bob replied:

Hi Paul - good to meet you at Queen Mary.

For those that are following this trailer debate the price from Lizard trailers is ?340 plus VAT which is pretty good.

When I bought mine they offered swinging arms for a few pounds more which are worth thinking about (they make the trailer about 3 feet narrower when there is not a boat on the trailer. Much safer when trailing empty and better for storage.

Another thought - ask about wheel options. 8inch wheels were standard some years ago but 10 inch are better if you use the trailer a lot.

It was great to meet you and the rest of the 'team' on Sunday - thanks to all for making me feel welcome.

I have today checked back with Lizard Trailers (new number is 01326 563282) and they have confirmed the following prices as the chap I spoke to last week was in the workshop and quoting from memory:

Dart15 Trailer fixed arms ?450 plus VAT
Dart15 Trailer swing arms ?500 plus VAT.

Although more than I thought it is certainly cheaper than other quotes I have received so far.

Trailers [Phil Neal]

Phil Neal replied:

I am currently making a range of trailers,a Dart 15 trailer is one of them. As a catamaran sailor myself, I have designed the trailer with several features which other trailer manufacturers do not offer:-
1.The boat is supported better in a v-shaped cup at the front, and a pad and roller at the back.
2.The support arms are retractable.
3.The boat is strapped to the trailer from front to back up and over the beams,(no worries about straps rubbing, and pulling the hulls together).
4.The trolley is simply secured to the trailer in two clamps (quicker loading)
5.We can supply the trailer either galvanised or powder coated(for the same price).
6.The trailer comes as standard with fitted jockey wheel and spare road wheel.
7.We can supply a fitted fibre-glass box.
8.We can also arrange delivery.
Price of trailer ?545 plus vat

Price of fibre-glass box ?195 plus vat
