So if you get Kyle to take your boat on top of his and that would make a team of 8 - just one short of team Shanklin

Have a great time, everyone. I received a text message from Howard shortly before midnight, on thursday. He says he's left a pint of IPA on the table for me. It might be a bit flat by now. So give it to Eamonn Browne. He'll drink anything.

Here's a topical song for the benefit of the pope. Try singing it to the tune of "Yesterday", by Paul McCartney. Unfortunately, Ms Boyle never sang it.

Birth Control! It's the only way to save your soul,
When you're coming into your old girl.
Oh, I believe in birth control.

Suddenly, there's a shotgun hanging over me:
It's an unwanted pregnancy.
Yes, I believe in birth control.

Why? I had to come,
I don't know: she wouldn't go.
I stayed in too long.
Now, I believe in birth control.

Syphillis! It started with just a little kiss.
Just like razor blades when I piss.
Oh, I believe in syphillis.

Duncan, you're so disrespectful!

Many years ago, someone sang a song "They're digging up grandad's grave to build a sewer". I only heard it once so I never learnt it. If anybody remembers it, please let me know.

By now, the yanks have probably changed the words: "They're digging up ground zero to build a mosque".

Andrew,

It's "They're moving grandad's grave to build a sewer" - the ITunes store has it for £0.79 for a download by Derek Lamb from his "She was poor but she was honest" album - also available for your guitar repertoire.

They're digging it up to instal 9" pipes for some posh bloke's drains etc etc.........

Thanks Steve,

I've never used itunes. But for 79p, it's worth a look.

I also remember "She was poor but she was honest". It was once a Billy Bennett song. But of course, there was a parody, "Standing on the bridge at midnight"!
