I bring my kids down to watch with my wife, are you wanting to bring your kids to watch as my 14 year old daughter says may be interested, my sons 11 and will play with anybody.
Neil, A belated thank you to you and your daughter for coming back to me with the potential babysitting offer. Unfortunately our 4 year old went sick and, being potentially contagious, we had to keep her at home quarantined. I am glad to say she is all better now though.

We are going to forward plan to make it next year though. Sean

I reckon the solar powered floating garden shed may just catch on - perhaps more useful than the wind farm over the weekend we were there?

The fourth picture is that of a Royal Burnham One Design, RB23. This is the very boat I sailed before I joined Thorpe Bay Yacht Club. I sailed her for many years. The picture shows her returning to Burnham, having completed the RBODs race to Brightlingsea the day before. Overnight, the sailors would have stayed in the bunkhouse at Colne Yacht Club, a short distance from the sailing club. I introduced myself to the new owners whilst we were sailing-out to the staring area on sunday.

RB 23 was one of the "Pyefleet" boats, having been built by Stones of Brightlingsea, where they were also sailed. Just a bit of history!

An abbreviated version of Simon Farthing's excellent race report is now posted on the Y&Y website. See link below:

http://old.yachtsandyachting.com/news/?article=165424

A fuller version (blow by blow  ) will be posted on this website shortley.

Just a word to comment on our results. The chart of results were available daily on this website thanks to Martin Searle, who not only took part in the racing but spent many hours late in the days entering the results into his system for calculating and displaying the results. This is a feat achieved only by a few of the top classes and clubs in the Country. It was particularly tricky on the Sunday evening with many protests held over until the Monday morning ( many of us can remember times when we bragged about how few protests we had as a class - well I reckon that we can no longer do that :? ). We checked out that the club had an internet connection, but we did not think to ask if the club had a printer and it is for this reason that we could not hand out copies of the results in the presentation. So our results were published to the world on our website sometime before the prizegiving :D :D :D :D
Our thanks go to webmaster Martin who quietly beavers around in the background making this all possible 8)

Well done.

Doubtless Andrew Hannah will have one of his team of 16 all decked out in their fine polo shirts. :D

Cheers

Bob

PS I don't remember Andrew in such dress, I hope he did not let the side down

If you look at the Shanklin photo carefully, you will see Howard Hawkes looking lost, possibly searching for his camera. Did the Shanklin mob return it?

It could have been in the same place as your Thorpe Bay team polo shirt
