Thanks to everyone who helped to make this year's Nationals a success at Thorpe Bay. I'd had a great time even before I went on the water. Lovely Club. Great people. Excellent event. Looking forward to next time

A BIG THANK YOU to all at TBYC who worked so hard to give us such an excellent event. Well done to all.
It was most memorable for all the right reasons and showed what a great club you have.

Just a quick note to say that Nick Champion was at Thorpe Bay on Monday 14 July taking pictures and reckons he got good shots of all those racing.
These will be put on the Champion Marine Photography website in the next week.

They are a mixture of the pictures that were showing on the big screen at Thorpe Bay and those taken by Alan Howie-Wood.

Just viewed the the drone footage, never seen so many radio controlled boats/sprint 15 and the helms look so lifelike !!!!!!

Can anyone remember the dates Erling announced at the AGM for next year's Sport and Una Rig Nationals? I can remember the months (June and August) but didn't bother with the days, but it would be handy to know. Good idea to have this on the Forum, too, so that E can look it up if he needs to. Memory can play tricks as time passes....

Trick of the tide. It leaned right over as he was passing. (Very closely, it only LOOKS as though he's touching it
)

Yes, 18 knots of tide and foreshortening of the lens. Definitely missed it. Third umpire gives benefit of the doubt.

I was lucky that I got round the bouy and could do my 360 when going with the tide. I was unlucky that a boat on Port tack that did nothing about changing course had forced me to bear away behind him to make me hit the bouy.
