Hi all,

Following a 1 year layoff due to a back injury I'm looking to buy a cat to race at one of my local lakes, Stewartby, and I'm looking for some advice.

Are there any specific weakness's, etc. to look out for when buying a secondhand Dart 15 Sprint, my budget is approx. ?1500?

I have been racing monohull dinghies for approx. 15 years so I can spot a well cared for boat, but I wanted to know if there are any specific points to watch out for.

Also congratulations on an excellent web site, I found the technique articles very helpfull.

Thanks in advance,

Paul Brown

general common sense is a good starting point. Check the rudders carefully, as spreading stocks will mean new ones.
Other than that masts can leak, but all this is curable, and the big wear area is the skegs. Contact me of you don't feel up to rebuilding them

Hi Paul, Did you buy a boat yet? There are some good ones in the for sale section of this web page. 1344 came in today and is just about your price range.
Say Hi to Rod, Graham & Co at Stewartby.
