I am currently concerned that we encourage the Sprinters to the Standard Nationals at Pentewan, next year. This is, in my view, the biggest opportunity of increasing our numbers. It is also a big disadvantage to Sprint Sailors who seldom sail without the jib to sail Una-rig. (I suffered this for problem in my early Dart 15 days). I am thinking of presenting prizes to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed sailors who generally sail Sprint. There is probably a group of 30 plus who could attend who would be in this category.

This includes most sailors at Gurnard, Instow, Stewartby, Carsington, 50% Rutland, 10% Grafham, etc.

Any views? Opposition? etc.

Would you still propose the Sprint Nationals?

If so, you'd have to open this to non - sprinters?

Then we'd have two nationals which would detract from the 'prestige' of the event.

What do other classes do?

As long as we're all on a 15 I guess you can't go wrong!

Hello Mark,
The proposal is not that they can sail Sprint at the Standard format Nationals. They must still sail Una-rig single handed or two up without the trapeze. I was just proposing having separate prizes to reward those sprinters who did best at Una-rig.
