As the 2 new 15's have only just arrived this week in Hong Kong, I'm a bit late in offering my thanks to Bob Carter for the superb job he has done with the Laser Centre in negotiating this excellent deal.

Since they arrived and were built up on Wednesday (only a couple of minor Laser Centre glitches) they have been much admired, and even a hardened D 18 sailor, tried one, una rigged today,in bit of a blow, and said that it was the best sail he had had in years.

I think we might get a few more converts to 15's in time for the next deal, later this year?. Only problem is the very high shipment costs- cargo handling charges in HK are
horrendous.

Anyway thanks again Bob, I'm over the moon with mine 1962 "Freddie"

Cheers

Hi Keith,
I'm please that your new boats arrived in Hong Kong in the end.
Sorry to hear about the shipping / cargo charges - was it more than the the VAT you saved?
Nice name

Bob, yes, the shipping bill was a couple of hundred pounds more than the VAT saving. Still have learnt a lot about shipping costs and will be able to reduce them next time.

"Spark Naked" is still in dire need of surgery- like a new starboard hull, and a deck off job on the port hull. I'm following up on the hulls in Y&Y. I wonder if I could check them in as hand luggage??

Cheers from the growing 15 scene in HK
