Chris sold his boat because he was not getting on with two hulls and not achieving the results that he was with a monohull.
We have gained more than we have lost over the winter.
Two notable gains from the Gurnard monohull fleet are -
Clive Johnson the owner of the Shipmates Chandlery group which includes our local shop Aquatogs.
And former race officer Steve Cole.
It looks like our fleet will be plagiarising your Pro-Am idea, I am sure that you wont mind.
I know this because I read about it in the I.W. County Press(the second article in 6 months about the Gurnard Dart15 fleet).

Good to hear that Gurnard thrives.
I want other clubs to do the Pro Am - the more the merrier.
If other classes see us having fun we will attract more members and loose less.

Its fair to say that Gurnard is NOT in decline. I think that we are large enough now (and established enough) that some of the fleet's members situations will change and people will go. When we were smaller, this was less likely to happen. The important thing is that we still are getting
new members, enough not only to replace, but to continue to grow.
Similar things have happened at all the clubs\fleets I have been in. I think that it is part of the life cycle.
It's also good that these boats are staying on the Island. The more Dart 15s in the area, the better it is for the fleet. Regardless of the banter that takes place, Shanklin is an important ally.
I think Laurie has problems with his mail client outgoing mail setup. He tells me that he can only receive email, and not send. (good excuse for never replying).
Other than that, things are going well. The fleet is back for the new season. I have a new boat to tune in.
Ask Carl about his new road trailer.
