Could someone tell me the biggest downhaul purchase allowed under the class rules?
I have what i believe is the standard 2:1 system, but i have seen some boats at our club running a 4:1 purchase. I know this will not give a massive advantage but it just make the job easier in strong winds.

I have also benn told that the 4:1 system is shown in the old black and yellow High Technics book.

Is this the case?
Interesting eh!

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the info, does this mean in your terms that we can have a double pulley block at one end and a single pulley block at the other?

This should make 3:1

Anything else is incorrect?

Have a good weekend

Graham

As long as there are only 3 spans between the blocks it's OK. Most of us use a standard Dart 15 fitting at the top and a small extra block at the bottom.
