I realize this is off topic, but wondering if anyone can help me identify the make/model of this boat. It's appx. 16ft, with beam 6ft. 8inches or so. I'm told it's of U.K. origin:

Hi Scott,
This boat only has one hull. How do you expect us Cat sailors to recognise that!!
Better stick to the dart 15.

P.S Jim Jeffery - can you?

It looks like an early small cruiser, from the 60s.
I know Ive been around around a long time, but there were many boats of this type. This has a long cockpit, probably for weekend camping.
Even I wouldnt cross the channel in this one.
Give me a Dart 15 every time.

Scott,

I know the boat from my HK days...but not sure what it is. I know it lost its rig years ago, and I think it has no centreboard.

Iain Mc may know something about it.....LBC were looking at is for a committee boat a while ago.

I reckon it could be north american/canadian in design.....I don't recognise it as a UK design from the last 20 years or so.

Thanks Keith,

I was thinking talking with the current owner about buying it (very cheaply!), but the amount of work and HK$s I estimate it would take to put it back in shape as a sailboat, well, it's just not worth it. Doubly so, because no one knows its class/design. I was thinking though: any chance it's larger than I thought and a Pandora?

Scott,

Nah, definately not a Pandora. There's a grey Pandora moored off the Mui Wo fireboat pier in Silvermine Bay.

The red shed's only about 20 feet long. Pandora about 22' with fixed deep keel and skeg mounted inboard rudder.

You're right it would need a heap doing to it........save your cash for some new sails for the 15 ! (although arguably they would cost more!).

Cheers
