"Many thanks for the booklet. It arrived in good time and has been most useful. Wow what a boat!! Have had an excellent week's sailing. The Dart 15 has exceeded all of my expectations. I am particularly impressed with its ability to sail in shallow water. This means I have a much larger sailing area than most people at Wells as I do not have to stick to the deep water channel. It also means that I can negotiate the creek leading from the slipway to the main body of water easily as I can tack much closer to the banks than anyone else when the wind is against us! My fears about its ability to tack in confined spaces were quicky allayed - providing there is a bit of wind! Once in the main channel the performance was quite breathtaking and so effortless, to say the least. The Harbour Master was most impressed! I even managed to do a bit of "sprinting" My wife has also been out on it and thoroughly enjoyed herself.
What did surprise me, though was how wet the ride was on the open sea in choppy conditions. Not sure if this is how Cats are or because of the extra weight I was carrying (beefy mate on board!)
I am sure there are a 1001 questions I need to ask, and when I think of them I will consult the website.
Thanks again for your help. It made the introduction to the boat so much easier and pleasurable. I look forward to my next sail and hearing from Class Ass'n re my membership application."
