This web site does not get as good as it is by accident. Our web master Jonathan Perkins is beavering around behind the scenes constantly making improvements. Below is a message he sent to me last night - I've posted it to keep you informed, as Jonathan is too shy to sing his own praises.

"Hopefully you should find the chat pages much quicker to display the index page - I spent a few hours profiling the software and found a few areas to speed it up, as it was sometimes a bit slow.
Next plan is to update it so that when someone adds a message to an existing thread, that thread moves up to the top of the page - should help replies to old threads from being lost."

Keep up the good work, you must be an iadealist, as perfection is your goal!! I "have" to use a site which runs like a dog & can't believe someone pays the provider to annoy customers!!

On the thread idea, I'm a stick in the mud, but I rather like seeing new threads at the top & can spot unread messages on old threads by the colour. However, when searching old threads recently I did find one which I could have answered, but didn't as it was so old & didn't have an email option. Perhaps a toggle between the 2 views would be nice? Sorry for suggesting more complexity!

Boy, it is a lot faster isn't it !! [Charles]
