There was an apparition at Grafham on Sunday that took some coming to terms with. After a detailed inspection, Frank Sandells determined that "it might actually be Bob Rowntree" - who we have not seen for many a moon. Well it turned out to be the case and not only had Bob turned up but he proceeded to sail (and capsize) in both races. The extended layoff had caused Bob's technique to be a little rusty which led to the capsizes but there was no flies on him (or cobwebs for that matter) when it cam to righting the boat which he did very quickly both times. Of course the water temperature might have played a part, there. Anyway it was great to see Bob getting to grips with it again. Meanwhile the talk in the bar was how long have we got to wait before Keith Ball graces us with his presence - and just think how rusty HE WILL BE!! We can't wait.

Did I also see a former D 15 sailor (1966) with his mast pointing in the wrong direction ----- too many ropes not enough hulls!!

So Frank please tell, what toy has the boy bought that I will have to watch out for falling masts when I come to the Grafham travellers in March.

"The boy" bought a Laser 2000 because his knee can't stand kneeling after his operation. I don't detect he has the same enjoyment that he did in his Sprint 15 and I think his knees are getting better. He has already asked me about the availability of the Club Sprint 15 - so watch this space.

When I saw Bob's post, I half expected him to say he saw "Boy George" walking across the water. A relation, you understand!

PS. I omitted to quote the biblical reference I was alluding to, by implying George, our national champion, as able to walk on water.

It is Matthew ch.14, v.25.
