There were at least 3, so which does Bob have in mind?
Tacking within 2 boat lengths of the windward mark right in the path of Thomas Sandal on starboard, who had to luff well above closehauled, and then having the nerve to convince him that no rule was broken?
Canoodling the inflatable windward mark?
Capsize?
Well I'm pleased that you picked a good role model. Seems like you caught up with me all in one day's sailing. What does Erling think - I bet we are soon to hear!!!!!!!!!!
I think Frank should move away from that nasty Bob, that teaches him bad habits and come and join as at Shanklin. I know its a long way but your wife may beable to get you cheap flight,s.
I make no apology for plagiarising a comment that very recently appeared on the Thorpe Bay YC website. But to have a bit of fun, I have changed the names! This is the comment:
"Frank, you are right. I did forget about that bandit, Bob. Bob's rules are very different from the rest of the world. He must have learnt them from his son, who in turn, was taught by Erling, who read them in a book, borrowed from Arfur, who bought it on e-bay. And the only reason why Arfur lent it to Erling, was because it was written in japanese, although Erling didn't spot this bit! He clearly had difficulty reading this strange lettering, which he put down to the spray covering his glasses. This further explains why it is that Erling and Bob make up the rules as they go along.............!"
Obviously, no harm intended to anybody who recognises themselves in this comment. Needless to say, the characters are entirely ficticious!
I don't like to see all this mockery of our Frank. He's one of the nicest old codgers at Grafham and always willing to help out with car park duty. Have to admit though that he was caught admiring Flying Fifteen keels last week and has allegedly booked a demo at May Madness.
