What are the Dart15/Sprint15 sails made of (sail number circa 1800) - dacron or something else?
I'm getting a sail logo, and the printer needs to know what the sail is made of...

They are made of Dacron - at about #1900 it changed to a different grade of cloth (the same as the Dart 18) when the old cloth was discontinued but it has always been Dacron

Hi Bob,
I have noticed that the original sails are "softer" than the new (white) ones. Were the old sails always soft? Or did they start life starchy, but became soft with age?

Yes they were much softer than the new material - but they got even softer (and stretchy) with use.

Yes, I had the feeling the old sails stretched a bit.
