Whilst many of us have sent Bob personal messages of thanks, I felt it proper to make a post on behalf of us all.

Forty six entries is a tremendous achievement. Not only was it a record turnout for a Sprint TT at Grafham, we were the biggest cat class at the cat-fest by far. It occurs to me that someone has brought us along to enjoy the fun of racing our boats. That person is Bob Carter.

Bob knows how to motivate class leaders. And his motivation filters down our respective fleets. I am pleased to be part of it.

Where do we go from here? Is it likely that we can improve on 46? Yes! is the answer. The key to it, is new boats arriving. We all noticed the number of Out Of Africa boats there. Somehow, new boats make the class more vibrant and it is in the interest of all off us, to see the class grow in this way.

The other factor on our side is that man Bob! Keep going Bob, we'll be there to support you.

Wow, this was my first TT and first cat open and I have to say it was pretty amazing to see so many cats (190) in one place. Although I also have to say the starts were pretty intense with 46 all going for the line at the same time - usually we only have 5-10!

I can't believe I managed all 6 races without hitting anybody...

Anyway, the results are not yet on the grafham site due to a technical problem, but I have got a copy and posted them here in case you didn't get a chance to see them on the day -

Wow, what a great showing, I'm sorry I missed out.

Good to see the new boats there & also that Collins seem to be on the money with competitive but beatable boats. What a great addition to the class.

Well done to Robin Boardman, our man from the North. Halifax SC is going to have to get its act together at some point in 2007 & put out more than 1 boat per TT !

Thanks for that Charles. It certainly was a great turn out for the Sprints and good event to boot. I would like to add my thanks to Soggie Doggie's (!!) as regards Bob's efforts. I am sure there are several people who have contributed to the Out of Africa Boats, indeed many people who contribute to the class as a whole (not least the person who keeps ths website going) but Bob's enthusiasm is infectious and the excellent number of 46 at Grafham is testiment to that.
