I think the guys from Shanklin don't bother about the "room with a view" bit. Their criteria has usually been how many can it sleep (dormitory style). If the number is 8 or more then they are happy. I wonder if they will treat themselves to any new rugby shirts this year - we have seen the blue and white ones for as long as I can recall!

PS By way of explanation (and so that people do not get put off by Paul's warning) - there is a lot of accommodation in the Saundersfoot area. There are some really nice flats that are right on the beach (hence the room with a view comment)which means you do not have to use the car and can walk everywhere - these are as Paul says nearly fully booked already. Cottages, flats and caravans which require a short drive will be still be available but do get booked quite quickly and they mostly work on a Saturday to Saturday booking system. There is also quite a few campsites about including one which is in walking distance of the beach and the Club (please see my earlier posting) - I presume that these do not book up so long in advance and are available by the day rather than by the week, but I have not talked to them. If anyone does book them it might be nice to put a note on this chat page on how easy it was to book.

Spoke to a guy from the "Old Mill Caravan Park", they don't do a brochure but camping is ?6.00 a night. Five minutes walk to the beach. He told me they have quite a few sailors camping with them (maybe we can do an association special rate).

Like the sound of sailing to Tenby and Caldey Island.....

Thanks for the update on the camping scene at Saundersfoot. It is great if big groups of our sailors get together at one venue or in close walking distance. The Old Mill Camp site is definitely the one to go for to be close to the action.
