Ok, so I caved....
Proud (read: foolish?) owner of my first 15 and trying to work out which nobs to twiddle first - and that's just to get it off the trailer.....
Unlikely to make Thorpe as I've no idea which way to point the thing yet, but looking forward to venturing out in the next couple of weeks at Queen Mary.
Now fully signed up for a whole new range of 'down the mine' experiences.
Look out!!
Alex
You've got off to a flying start by choosing to sail at the best of the London Clubs!
The regular Sprint 15 sailors are Gordon Goldstone, 2004, and me, George Stephen, 1594. Gordon is the Catamaran Fleet Captain at Queen Mary, as well as being the Sprint 15 Association Treasurer. We both sail regularly on the Travellers circuit and at the Nationals.
Look out for Gordon and me when you're at QM, and ask as many questions as you want. You'll also get advice, including on launching and recovery at QM - crossing the concrete block lining at c40 degrees is easier when you know how!
I recommend the Association Teach In if you can make it to the East End of Southend - the posher part known as Thorpe Bay.
I'm hoping that the wind forecasts liven up, so it's worthwhile my going to QM for the Weds Evening Race and next Sunday - it's been disappointingly light over the last 10 days or so.
