I have been sailing at Gurnard open events for 40 yearsor more, and people have heard me have the oddmoan or two about knowing which buoy is the rightone. Well this yearthe Sport,s Nationals was perfectin everyway, we had a coloured course card with only a few buoys that could be used and most of the time had big orange marks.. Steve Cole set good course's that took 60 to 70 minutes and could be watched from the shore. Steve could not resist on Saturday morning when the Solent was flat with a good wind sending us once across to the other side and then we had a fantastic reach all the way back across the solent that was worth the entrant fee on its own. We had good evening entertainment and raised over £80 for the RNLI. So in two years time come to Gurnard , you wont be sorry.

Thank you Erling and Alex for your kind comments.
Those of you who ventured out on Saturday afternoon may have noticed a camera boat following us around. There is a bit of footage on this website.

It takes a bit to load and our footage is about three quarters of the way in.

Interesting that they report the results of 7 races & yet the Notice of Race only advertises 6. I guess the race report will explain it in due course.

Hmmm...
More fun for the youngsters - more pain for the oldies!
Good to hear from you again, Bob!

Is there any truth in the rumour that Erling got
hooked up with a windsurfer on one of the starts at the Sport Nationals,
apparently the windsurfers boom was stuck on Erling's bow?
Are you going to give us the low-down, Erling?

I heard the same rumour; do you think he’ll get it untangled in time to make Seasalter?

I'v sent the boat to Steve Sawford to get it removed as he's the expert at geting unwanted Gurnard waste off.
