Folks,
My memories of sailing in the area in 1994 are:
1) Jellyfish as big as dinner plates (perhaps bigger), making a thunk as you hit them with the rudders.
2) The rocky shoals between Saundersfoot and Tenby and Cladey Island, just below the surface so you have to watch for them on the cruises. Plus the cliffs make a much more dramatic scene than I'm used too.
3) Porpoises milling around the fleet
4) Ice Cream on South Beach at Tenby and playing French Cricket at Caldey.
5) Winning the Treasure Hunt with my old man (only nationals win! but not exactly boat related)
6) And finally the long walk with launching trolley to\from boat at coppett beach and hoping I pulled the boat up enough, but not too much, to prevent it from floating off.
Perhaps this year we can add:
1) Seeing a Great White and hopefully not being eaten by it (just about to watch Jaws 2!), what with all these reports from Cornwall.
2) Or perhaps a Basking Shark.
Oh well you live in hope.
Martin S.
PS I'll be going to the fun events due to a change in plan. Booking extra time off work.
