Nice to see the new winter and 2008 events but did you really mean that the nationals come before the fun events?

Frank,
The 2008 Summer programme is incomplete a number of clubs are yet to confirm dates etc. So the programme Bob sent me didn't include those but I'll expect to add them in once confirmations have been received.

My word some people are impatient. I generally do not publish the summer programme until late December. I wanted to publicise both Nationals dates so thought I would bung in some of the traveller programme too. Many Clubs cannot confirm dates too early (Marconi & Swanage are 2 such examples - both of which we hope are in our 2008 programme. Seasalter is the other - they have given us a tentative date but we cannot freeze it until the other tidal clubs suggest dates).
The fun sailing is sometimes before and somtimes after the Nationals. It depends what works best with the tides, etc. When the venue is in the South East (so there is less travelling for most people) we try to use both days of a weekend to limit the holiday requirement for the locals who are not interested in the fun sailing.
Anyway you cannot acuse us of not keeping you informed in good time.
Cheers
Bob

Hi Bob
It would appear that being a Lt Commander carries unforeseen responsibilities - watch out Russell Crowe!
Chin up.
ps: Carsington Winter Traveller? Great! Swanage event? Cool!

Swanage sounds like good fun.
And a winter TT at Carsington would be great -not too far to come from Durham, if i can get a boat there.

Swanage is down near Poole and Bournemouth on the south coast of Dorset. Swanage SC is on the clubs map so have a look there. Quite a way from Halifax.

I realise that the list of events for next year is incomplete but hopefully you are intending to run some "Teach-in" days, they were all over this year before I bought my boat!

Yes we are planning 2 teach-ins. One in the South & another in the North.
We usually fit them in between the events so cannot put them in until the traveller programme is fixed.
Watch this space.

Bob

Ben,
I live in Sunderland and would also be interested in traveling to Carsington or other events in the Winter series. Perhaps we could co-ordinate???
Not sure how you will reply (or how I will read the reply) on the forum so you could reply direct to me on adrian 'at' mortgagesofchoice.com

Sounds good, but without a boat i would only be a viewer. Not that i would mind but sailing has never been much of a spectator sport as anyone who understands whats going on tends to be sailing out there themselves.
I will keep in contact about it
Many thanks
