Just a quick question if anyone can help please...
How is the traveller track attached to the rear beam? I noticed mine was a bit loose at one end the other day but didn't have time to investigate.

Hi Jas,
Old boats just have one long rivet in the middle of the track which quickly fails. The track can then smash into the gelcoat at each end (especially when you gybe) and soon looks quite unsightly and needs repair. Newer boats have an anchor plate fitted at each end of the track which is fixed with a monel rivet (much harder). This takes out all the slack and prevents any damage. They can be fitted to old boats but need the boat to be taken apart to fit. You can buy them from Windsport. Next time your boat is apart you should fit them. Meanwhile tie some short lengths of rope around the beams so it act as a cushion to stop the track hitting the hull.
Cheers

Jas,
Look at the Parts list - section 2 for a picture (Parts D40358/0351) to see where they go. The Windsport part numbers are 02070 & 01014 - you need 2 off each.
Cheers

Thanks Bob. It didn't seem to be moving too much so maybe the centre rivet is just a bit loose. I'll have a proper look when I move it to Seaford.
