I've Just got back from the Cat open and I wanted to say thanks to everyone for being so welcoming, helpful and friendly. Despite the wind being a bit ropey, I had a fabulous time - great to put faces to names as well.
The sprint 15 class really does deserve its reputation as being super friendly, and I hope to see you all again at Grafham.
On another point, has anyone got a spare bottom mast they could sell me?
Rob

Congratulations to John Postlethwaite our new Northern Champion
Superb contest in light breezes, commiserations to Robin Newbold, Charles Watson & Neil Parkhurst who finished 2nd, 3rd & 4th respectively.
In the fith and final race anyone of the above four superb helms had a chance to take the title.
My thanks to all the travellers who made the championship so enjoyable.

John
Seems to me that the sprint is undergoing a revival at Beaver
how many boats have you in the fleet, and how many of you sail every or nearly every Sunday
If i were to pop over to see you one sunday would there be a good number of sprints on the water, you are only 50 miles away

Hi Steve
Hope you are well
We are building slowly a fleet of 15s, as yet early
days
The current racing is in the handicap fleet, but if we can continue to grow we can then have our own fleet once more
At the moment there are 7 darts looking to race on a regular basis probably next year
with a further 2 on looking ( Steve and Richard Hanby ).
As for the circuit we hope to turn 5 plus boats to each tt event
As for coming to see us
No problem
anybody will be more than welcome
Hope to see you fit and well very soon
All the best
John

John
I will get down to see you at beaver soon
We at Halifax are in a similar situation there are 4 sprints you can rely on every sunday
with a new member who is getting the insentive to turn up every Sunday so thats a posible 5 regulars for next season
with the ocasional sailors 4 of and one non race we number in total 9 sprints so we have realy come on in recent years
I hope to be back to the TT circuit next April or May see how I go on then me my son Ben and Charles Watson should be doing plenty of TTs next year
Realy missing sailing at the moment as I dont feel particularly unwell
but will have to do as I am told if i am to be back early next year
should i let you know if I am coming down one Sunday or just turn up
See you

I agree with John anybody is welcome. As from November we are in the frosbite series which is all handicap and racing starts at 12 and 2.00 pm. We finish 26th December until the 2nd March 2010 which is then back to fleet starts. John and I are working hard to convert as many people to the enjoyment of Sprint 15 sailing as possible.

Hi Steve
Would be a good idea to call, so we can make sure one of us is there
some of us are fair weather sailors
so not all of us are down in the winter months
Best Regards
John
