New Project....

Hi everybody,

Many of you know I've been sailing Albacores the last few years in Toronto a mixture of helming and crewing. A tough fleet (50 boats out most Fridays in summer). Some successes, Canadian champion (crew) in 2008 and Friday night winner (helm) in 2008, we even won a race at the worlds a couple of years aso. Lots to learn though and lots and lots of really good sailors!

Having spent a few years sailing club boats (many of the clubs provides boats around here) and sailing the big events in somebody else's private boat, I now have a new project. I bought 1995 Albacore 7982 a few weeks ago and am in the process of fairing out 15 years of damage to the hull. as you can see from the photos in the link, it is an involved process....

Even though it looks bad, the boat is from a good vintage and it very close to minimum weight still. A whole new world of foam sandwich construction, epoxy fairing compound, and gentian violet (the dye you can see). Far too complicated for me. I miss my 15, but you have to go with the fleet, no point sailing a 15 on my own.

Hope to come visit one day for an event...

George

Robert, if you returned to the chalkface, you might be required to learn!

Not sure that such a return would have the desired effect Andrew. I like Kyle's other tricks on Youtube too. Anyway, I'm all up with that learning stuff.
