Thinking of making my first trip to Marconi, wondered what the plans were for Friday night arrivals and if there are restrictions on camping/campervans ect.

Hi Simon,
We'd love to see you. Camping is available Friday and Saturday nights at no charge. Tents, caravans and motorhomes are all welcome, but given recent weather it is important to park with care - some grassed areas are a little soft.
On Saturday morning the club gate will be opened first thing so visitors can just drive in and park up. I'm not sure of the plans to receive visitors on Friday evening, but I'll check with those in the know and post back here.
The format, as last year, will be 3 races around the cans on Saturday and one longish distance race around Osea and Northey Islands on the Sunday. The course for Sunday is something like this:

Cheers

HI Dave
Aiming to arrive about 5.00 ish, but dont mind waiting for anyone to open gates at 6.00.. NOR says gate will be open between 6.00 and 8.00
See you then, (as long as we dont get any silly weather)

Hi Simon,
The event "Further Information" notes say there will be site access from 4pm on Friday - I hadn't read that bit until today
I checked with Fenella today and that is still the plan. If you drop her a message or phone call (contact details in the event info document) with approx Friday ETA then someone will look out for you.
Fingers crossed for reasonable weather.
David

David,
Don't forget to pick someone to write the race report. It is better to pick the person and get him/her to agree before the start of racing.
That way the reporter will watch out for things to write about
Cheers
Bob
PS Photos are always good if yo can get someone in a rescue boat to take some close ups. We need to see the whites of their eyes as they capsize

Hi
I will be there with my "new" boat (1982). I also finally got a road trailer so I hope to attemd more TT's in the future
This will then be the 3rd time I sail outside Grafham, my previous trips were the nationals in 2009 and 2012.
See you all soon.
Happy sailing,
Thomas

By recent standards the forecast for this weekend looks good, with moderate breeze and a fair bit of sunshine. The only thing I can't promise is double-digit temperatures.
We're looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and some new ones too.
If there are any last minute questions feel free to post here or contact Fenella (details attached to the event info page).

Thanks to all who came along this weekend. Given the weather in recent days and weeks I think 25 entries was an outstanding effort.
Well done to Jenny for winning overall, and a special mention to Paul Grattage for winning the long distance race by a country mile in very tricky conditions.
A race report (by Jenny) and full results have been submitted and I am sure will appear on the site very soon.
Some photos from Saturday are available here:

1982? This begs the question, "What are the plans of Stuart Snell?" Does anybody know?
