My first Sprint 15 (then a Spark)
I bought it in 1988 from Mike Brech at Thorpe Bay and named it DEEP THOUGHT
I bought a jib kit and fitted it out for Sprint mode as it was then called (to make it a Dart 15 Sprint). I raced it at Grafham and on the circuit for a couple of years before selling it to Gordon Smith who sailed it at Instow for many years.
It had a new port hull in 1989 when I wiped out the old one when I misjudged a manoeuvre to pass astern of another catamaran at Grafham. Clearly Deeper thought was required on my part. The new hull was supplied from stock by the Laser Centre. Fortunately the blue stripes matched the remaining starboard hull precisely as Blue does not fade like the old red striped Sparks.
