Maximum sailor weight

I am considering getting back into sailing, I like the look of cats and it seams that where I would sail, grafham has a good sprint 15 fleet. Being an ex rugby player I know I will not be flying along but I am looking for a social sail and racing in a fleet. Realistically what is the maximum weight a sprint 15 can take?

at the moment 120kg but long term goal is 100kg. Will this still be too much?

120 could be slow. 100 would be fine, especially in a blow. 90 would be better.

I know I will be slow at the moment but would the 15 be able to handle the weight, it would be a good learning process and motivation to shift the weight. My main concern is the boats ability to function with me at the moment but you do see them being sailed two up and their weight must be more than 120kg.

My son and I have raced reasonably competitively at just over 120kg.

Bit sluggish when I took the wife out though  !
