Thinking of a NEW SAIL for next season?

If you are thinking of a NEW sail or even a NEW boat for next season you may want to hold off for a couple of months to see what super pre-season package Windsport will be offering via the Sprint 15 class association.
Of course you will need to be a Sprint 15 class association member, but then all Sprint 15 sailors benefit from an active class association with a healthy membership so make sure you are an up to date member.
Watch this space over the next few months!

Thanks Brian and Liam. Email sent to Gary for a new sail. Sadly I'm not in the position for a new boat just now :)

Hi All,

Whilst I wait for my forum login credentials, could someone post to the website that all 8 sails have been purchased and that we have 2 people on a 'reserve' list. No more orders can be taken.

Have a great weekend.

Kind Regards
Gary

It's a good offer from Windsport for a new sail, but shame to have disappointed customers on a waiting list. Is there no possibility of expanding the offer?

Hi,

I have sent an email to Brian regarding the two members on the reserve's list plus a third that apparently got 'lost in the post'. Hopefully he's able to expand the offer, although I do understand that it was always subject to constraints. I'm sure if he can, he will. Otherwise, perhaps we need to think about a lottery for allocation in the event of future offers.

Hi All,

Due to constraints, it's not possible to extend the Winter Sail offer, so all the available sails have now been reserved. As stated above, I will propose to the committee that, in the event of future offers from Windsport, the association allocate on a lottery basis rather than 1st come, 1st served. This avoids people missing out just because they aren't such frequent visitors to the website.

Food for thought or [probably] Can of worms: Each edition of our fantastic magazine 'NewSprint' costs about £1,000 to print and send out to each member. We do this twice a year. This represents 50% of our income [members subs]. I'm reliably informed that the same magazine could be 'e-hosted' for about £250, regardless of numbers. I recognise that e-hosting isn't a universal panacea, but every 6 months the association would save circa £750.

Now there are many things we could spend £750 on, but as an example, every 6 months, £250 off the price of a new mainsail for 3 association members might be an attractive offer. In the case of Windsport's most recent winter sail offer, rather than disappointing 6 members, the association would be able to 'internally' extend the offer, thus supporting the membership whilst simultaneously supporting the class supplier through the sale of additional sails at regular price.

I'll start a new thread on this for members input. That will leave this thread for matters 'Windsport Winter Offers' related.

Regards
Gary

All deposits have been received and paid to Windsport for the sail offer, so this is now done and dusted. Apologies to those on the waiting list.

I have received a couple of 'nibbles' regarding the new boat offer. We're not at the minimum order quantity yet, but if you are mulling it over, perhaps you could let me know. I believe Brian & Cookie are taking a well earned break for a couple of weeks and so may not be available to answer your queries straight away and the deadline will be pending on their return so we'll all need to move fast at that time.

Kind Regards
Gary
