Hi all,

I'm new to Sprint 15s and indeed cats in general. It sufficiently ticks enough boxes to make me very enthusiastic, but one the few remaining pieces of the jigsaw is to persuade the relevant committee members of my club (which has little storage space) that in its de-rigged state, there will be the proverbial 'room for a small one'.

Can anyone confirm the width of the de-rigged hulls for me? I hope that once I can get past this, I can gently edge towards storing it in a rigged state but at the moment, it's probably a case of 'slowly slowly catchee monkey'...

It wasn't actually the beam I was after, but the width of one of the hulls - in the first instance, I'll need to store it de-rigged.

Hi,
Each hull is about 300mm beam (sorry it is a guess as I'm not near a boat to measure at the moment). What is more important is how you stack all the parts as when you take it apart as you have lots of pieces. So you have 2 beams, 2 parts of the mast (unless you get a one piece mast), a launching trolley, plus 2 rudders, a trampoline, a sail bag and some little bits. Assuming you take the rudders, sails and little bits home and just lay the big bits on the ground (the hulls rest OK upside down) you should be able to get all of it on a patch 4ft (1.2M) wide by 15ft (4.5M) long. If you make some wooden racks to put the hulls over the beams & mast sections you could reduce the width to about 3ft.
