The Association is planning to organise a pre-Nationals training session at Weymouth on the Friday afternoon - the day before racing takes place.
We are seeking expressions of interest in this. The format of the session is still to be decided but could be something along the lines of:
-land session on boat set-up
-on the water session on race technique
-classroom based session on what to expect on the race course, the start, rules, etc.
The final format can be agreed around those things that the majority would like to cover. And it may be weather dependant on the day.
Brian Phipps will be on hand to lead the session ably aided and abetted by class multihull sailors and instructors.
We are thinking of kicking off around noon/1pm until around 5-6pm.
There will be a cost, exact amount to be worked out but will depend on interest. I would say somewhere between £10-£20 as a preliminary budget to cover power boat support costs and classroom space, etc..
Places will be allocated on a first come/first served basis with priority given to nationals first timers.

The basic idea is to develop confidence in large fleet sailing and dispel any myths.

Hi Readers,
An update on this. I have 7 sailors already signed up including a few first time entrants to the Nationals - so that's all good.
Any more for any more!? As it stands, the cost of the session which includes all coaching fees, RIB hire and petrol, classroom, etc. will be no more than £20/head.
But if a few more would like to take part, there are a few spaces left and the cost will be less than £20/head.
So if you'd like to join the pre-nationals training/coaching session led by Mr Cat Clinic himself (aka Brian Phipps) ably aided and abetted by Stuart Snell (and me), please let me know soonest and if possible no later than Fri. 1st June.
Beers are on me for those that take part if that might be an incentive.
