Looks like Liam has wrapped it up on day 2....

That was quite an event. Three days of quite strong breeze with some very close racing all the way through. Day 1 was type 2 fun but day 2 was just champagne sailing. I was very lucky to be able to cruise round on the third day and just enjoy the racing.

Thank you to everybody including Pauline and George with the camera and Jenny for running everything else.

According to Yachts and Yachting we should be the biggest Nationals so far this year if you exclude boats that you can't sit on.

Conditions were simply superb and quite honestly if I didn't have to pack the boats up could have thrashed about the bay all afternoon yesterday.

The results don't tell the full picture. The racing was really close every day. If it was all up-wind sailing I would have been 45th.

I said the same thing - it hasn't been that wrapped up during an event since GC. I also regaled the story of the Whitsable Nationals (2004?) where George forgot to bring the previous year's trophies he'd won - all of them. He then went on to win them all again so no drama about not having brought them!

Yes, sounds familiar. More embarrassingly I think that was the Nationals where I tried to mount one of the large buoys and got it stuck between the 2 hulls and I was stuck for some time....

Jacob & I got into the side of a trawler too.. My fault as he had his black signal cone up which I didn't know about at the time...
