With forecast winds of 18 - 35 knots and driving rain on Saturday - conditions for driving/towing are "sub-optimal" and chances of us being able to race are minimal. Whilst the strongest winds have moved back to Sunday, forecast for Saturday has remained consistent for several days and little likelihood of it changing in the next 24 hours.
On that basis, its not appropriate to drag Stewartby volunteers or travellers out for a second time with little prospect of the event going ahead on the day.
Thank you to everyone who entered - (all have been notified individually of the cancellation). Next up is Rutland on Sunday 8th December and hoping the wind gods will have settled down by then!!
