Re: Marconi TT 22nd 23rd April - Entries Now Open!

Big thanks to Marconi and especially Jenny for a great weekend and being able to run an event in such challenging conditions. It’s the unexpected that makes these events so much fun.
Many thanks

Re: Datchet TT - Sunday 12th February

It’s tricky- have to populate boat and crew then it works. I said the crew was me and it worked out I was una sailing- don’t know how- used usual technique of pressing buttons until internet breaks.

Re: Dry suit repair

Hi Kevin
I have used a diving dry suit repair company who were good. Second time I sent dry suit in they worked out from the pressure test the suit was knackered - leaking through fabric :( , but got an extra 2 seasons.

Re: Sprint News

Thanks Yvonne, lovely to read something resolutely cheerful, that doesn’t include the phrase “spike protein”.

Also a picture of Steve which defines the word insouciance!
Thanks

Re: downwind in heavy weather

If you put your back foot under the toe strap, near the rear beam and your front foot over the toes strap pushing down you can brace yourself in to stop yourself going forwards. Failing that, I find that prayer is comforting in such situations.

Re: Draycote

Nice video - really gives a good idea of the conditions for those not able to attend.

First 4 places all had 4 points, after discard! and the difference between first (congratulations Paul) and second (commiserations Ant) could not have been closer - is this the closest fought open ever?

Hi More European than classical - Source -Christopher Marlow's Dr Faustus - in essence - Mephistopholes is an agent of Lucifer who tempts Faustus with magic in exchange for his mortal soul (a German story in origin). Fishing out a broken battern

Hello all
Has anyone developed a cunning plan for fishing out the last 2 inches of a broken battern lodged in the plastic battern guide furthest away from the battern pocket opening :(

All suggestions gratefully received
