Unused Rudders,Tiller Connector, Halyard Rings

Following sale of 1973 last Summer I have sold several spares but have the following unused parts left :-

Pair of new, unused rudders supplied by Laser Centre in 2000, carefully stored and lubricated and never been near the water. No wear at all to locking mechanisms, springs or pivot bolts and appear in as new working condition. List price £1,817. OIRO £750 plus post/packing.

Flexible Tiller Connector. List £7.01. £3.50 + post.

Main Halyard Rings (Two). Not sure how I have two halyard rings! List 19.96 each. £10 each or £15 pair plus post.

When all sold intend to give part donation to RNLI.

Have just reduced the unused pair of rudders I have for sale under "Buy and Sell" to £650 which is about one-third list price of a new pair. Must be good value! Never been used so none of usual wear to bearings/springs/bolts etc.

Keep seeing them in my garage and each time they give me withdrawal symptoms for Sprint sailing! If you are interested email or give me a call and we can talk.

More European than classical - Source -Christopher Marlow's Dr Faustus - in essence - Mephistopholes is an agent of Lucifer who tempts Faustus with magic in exchange for his mortal soul (a German story in origin). Mephistopholes hangs on Faustus's shoulder tempting him until he gives in - I can assure you, having recently bought another Sprint 15 that you do not need to exchange your mortal soul , well not at Grafham sailing club, other clubs may have different policies.

Thanks for explaining. I'm not an avid reader of German mythology. But it is always good to learn a little about it.

Now them rudders. They were supplied by Laser Centre which means they are pre "Out of Africa". So I'd imagine they're pretty good!

Yes, it can be educational and I have learned a lot over the years from the Sprint chat pages but German mythology is a first.

As for the rudders, yes, they are pre Out of Africa and, yes, they are good!

Firstly, the unused rudders have now sold to a good home and the tiller connector and halyard rings were thrown in with the deal. So all spare bits now sold and RNLI donation to be arranged.

Secondly, apologies to Corky the Cat but I have only just seen his question about Warrant Officer Class 2. I have no idea but am sure Bob Carter can enlighten us. Bob?

Service ranks have always confused me. Now that we have WO2s being highter than WO1s, you'd think an army 2nd Lieutenant is, similarly, higher than a 1st lieutenant. Apparently not. An L1 is higher than an L2: the opposite of WO1 and WO2.

Then we have the ranks of generals. We know that a major is higher than a lieutenant. But a major-general is lower than a lieutenant-general. Maddening!

I think you have it the wrong way. My list starts at the bilge cleaners at the top of the page and works its way down to the top brass.
