Bob on ebay [Kevin]

I thought I'd got a chance of a cheap Dart, but then Bob started bidding! Seriously as a Dart owner I think Bob should be thanked for his involvement (as a new ebay member)as the boat went for a realistoic price preventing Darts going cheap. The only problem for me is that I don't get a cheap boat to let my kids use, they will still have to play with mine! Seriously, not bothered about motives (and that is not meant to be a criticism) its good to see somebody looking after the value of our assets! Cheers Bob

Sprint 15 on EBay [Bob]

Post by Archive »

Bob replied:

Hi Kevin
We are trying to buy a cheap Sprint 15 as a fleet boat at Grafham. I have concluded that the best way to get younger sailors (other than children of Sprint 15 owners) sailing a Sprint 15 is to have a fleet boat that they can use. The hope is that if they sail a Club boat and like it some of them may end up buying one of their own.
My word how the price rocketed up in the last 10 minutes. It was still a cheap boat but more than we can afford. Another time may be.

sprint prices [Kevin]

Kevin replied:

Yep, the price certainly SPRINTed! But was the boat a spark. I tried to get a number but was told the vendor couldn't remember as it hadn't been sailed in over a year?!
Hasn't Steve Sawford got anything? When he did a great job on my boat a while ago he seemed to have all sorts of old bits! But no doubt you've asked already!!!!

Another thought [Bob]

Bob replied:

I have been surprized that Sprint 15 owners are choosing to sell their boats on EBay and not on this web site. It is my view that all the boats (Sprint 15s) that have been sold on on EBay lately would have acheived a higher price if sold on this web site rather than on EBay. We also advertise free unlike EBay who take a small cut.
The only advantage of EBay so far as I can see is that the sale come to a rapid conclusion.
