Hi can you let me know all the details of the Sprint/Sport/Championship at Instow 2006.
I am trying to find out more details for the www.shanklinsailingclub.com Dance Team.
You know how much you enjoy Erling's dancing.

I understand Sport nationals don't normally have formal fun events with them. If this is so, do sailors generally stay on for a few more days to sail the rivers?

I have never been to Instow, but the place seems very interesting, with plenty of cruising opportunities.

Andrew.

Hi thanks for the info.
Sorry Andrew have never been to Instow but seems like the sort of place one could have a week's holiday.
Will have to look into it a bit more and check with more of the SSC's Club members.

Hi Andrew
Instow is indeed a nice seaside venue. The Rivers (Tor & Torridge) have a bar and out to sea it is all white water - you can get through locals tell me but I've never tried. All our racing is done within the estuaries. We have not done any fun sailing there. If you (and others) are interested we could sound out the locals if they could put on rescue another day.
Let's see if others reply to this topic.
Regards
Bob

Hi
There's lots to do at Instow. Over the years we at Gurnard S C have hired bikes from the old railway station and cycled along the Tarka trail and ye old lyme kilns; played rounders on Westward Hoe; sailed up the river to Appledore ship yard; walked the coarse at low tide, and got horribly drunk on finest malt whisky. Its a great place we will be back in May.
