Just got my copy today and read the 4-page in-depth report on the new boat.
Verdict - nothing less than expected.
A well written report by Jeremy Evans who has put the boat through it's paces, concluding that in spite of it's age - fast approaching 30 years now, the design is well proven, continuing to provide exciting and exhilarating 1-up/2-up/trapezing sailing for teenagers to pensioners (and we have some of both) at a very modest price, compared to many other classes, and does not need new sails every other year to remain competitive within the fleet, so running costs are miniscule by comparison.
So thanks to Jeremy for the article, also Bob Carter and Tom Gall for their time and effort in setting up the demonstration. This should certainly help re-inforce the continued popularity of the boat, and promote increased sales, as the new manufacturer (Collins Fibreglass) now also start to market the boat World-Wide.
LONG LIVE THE 15 , be it Spark , Dart or Sprint.
It's one hell of a boat !

I haven't been to Smith's to get my copy, but am looking forward to reading it, but Paul you have understated the cost savings of buying a 15 quite grossly.

One of the guys at our club used to fund his son's Laser sailing habit, but refused to buy more than 1 sail a year, even though the other good youth sailors' parents stumped up the cash for a new sail for EACH major regatta !!! At the prices which "you-know-who" charge for a sail that's the cost of a new 15 at least every 3 years in sails... you & Bob might not baulk at splashing that cash out on yourselves... but for yon' lad, I think not !!!??????
