What a disapointment you are, failing to appear at Beaver this weekend.
The northern ladies were going wild, they were looking forward to seeing you for that ultimate Christmas present for their man, a "Sprint 15 Ganzy".
Expect you were out with yer Cock-Ken-Nee friends, on yer market stall, selling yer wares and eating yer jellied eels, making a bit of the old escuda eh!
Come on Arfur, get real, we need to see you in January at Draycote to sell our unwanted Christmas cardigans.
What a let down!

Gordon replied:

Dear 'Ow Much', you're making me feel guilty. I never like to let me mates down, but commitments sometimes get in the way.
Rest assured I'll be at Draycote, so don't spend all your money over Christmas.

Gordon on the retreat! [Bob]

Bob replied:

That's what I like to hear - Gordon feeling guilty! For those that hoped to buy the latest Sprint 15 polo shirts, rugby shirts, sweat shirts and cardigans(? - I think Ray made this one up) I'm sure that Gordon can do a mail order service. Send him an EMail - his address in the contacts section of this web site.

An Apology for Arthur's Absence [George Stephen]

Post by Archive »

George Stephen replied:

Arthur regrets that he had not noticed an RSVP request on the Notice of Race, and hopes that you will take this note as a late and full apology for Arthur's absence from an eciting day's sailing at Beaver.

Arthur is now testing that his perceived recovery from the latest, and thankfully mild, recurrence of his illness is much more than mere wishful thinking. He hopes to be able to resume sailing next weekend, and to sail the rest of the winter series.

Bob replied:

Hi George,
Have you god a new job? Secretary to Arfur Daley. Are you any good with spanners? You better watch out or you will be helping out at the Garage soon!!

Bob
PS Some of the audience were grateful that they did not have to come up with an excuse why they don't want another new sweatshirt!

, who is not to be taken lightly, has told me to remind you that Mr Daley's minder is someone with whom you are ill-advised to tangle, especially if Mr Daley's business interests in fashionable garments are being threatened.....

Andrew Watson replied:

Wow new shirts. Are there any pictures of them as I'm stuck for what to get my wife for Christmas? Better still, are there any seconds at a reduced price? - she'll never notice.
